what do we do?

The “Veggie Buddies” 10 week healthy eating and gardening curriculum is designed to be taught to primary aged students outside in school veggie beds. The veggie beds create an inspiring outdoor classroom environment. All classes are aligned with the Federal Curriculum’s STEM subjects (science, technology, English, maths) along with Health & Wellbeing and Art.

The core educational philosophy of the curriculum is “outdoor play based learning’. Play based learning teaches critical life skills of resilience, teamwork and creativity, retention rates have been shown to to be higher and it is central to a student’s fundamental enjoyment of their childhood.

Each class has been designed to be ‘teacher friendly’ with extensive background content, simple required materials, worksheets and an activity designed for each primary school stage: foundation & stage 1, stage 2 and stage 3.
